Leaving deviantArtI have learned a lot here the last 2 1/2 years. I have made some friends and been given lots of hints, tips, and comments that have made me a much better photographer. I especially appreciate those who have helped me improve my photography. You have been unselfish in your advise and a great help. This is especially true of voyager01. I can never be at his level but he has given me much encouragement. Unfortunately, I am not now nor will I ever be a great photographer, but that has never been my goal anyway. Photography has become a passion of mine and something I get much enjoyment out of. And I hope that continues until I am no longer able to see well enough to shoot or until I drive my wife crazy and she throws away my camera! I am happy to occasionally be able to get one photo that is very good.
I debated with myself how to explain my reasons for leaving but have finally decided to just say that there are certain aspects about dA that are forcing me to leave. My personal convictions will no longer allow me to be associated with this organization. I have decided to not spell out the exact reasons because it would open me up to ridicule and probably some hatred because some people would choose to not understand or honor my reasons.
All of my photos have been removed or placed in storage. The ones in storage will be removed as soon as I can work through them. I will miss all the great photos and friends here.
I do have a website of mostly family photos. Maybe now I will take time to put the better ones from this site on it. I will not list the url here but you can write me at georgedawg@gmail.com and I will send it to you. Just don't expect too much, I have not worked on that site much recently. If anyone wishes to keep in touch, they can contact me at that email address also.
